Vijf maanden van toegewijd werk gingen op aan het vertalen van een levende herinnering naar dit meesterwerk — elke draad met opzet gezet, elk detail draagt een verhaal.
In het hart van het werk verrijzen drie figuren langs de trap: een jongen die zijn katapult omklemt en het verzet belichaamt; een jonge man met zijn keffiyeh, op weg naar kennis; en een oudere die opklimt in de houding van Handala, en de generaties verbeeldt die hun land nooit de rug toekeerden.
De straat zelf draagt de naam Al ShawQ-straat — een weerspiegeling van het verlangen. Langs haar muren staan de woorden „لن نرحل" („Wij vertrekken niet"), voor het eerst geroepen in de huizen van Sheikh Jarrah, als een belofte die weigert te vervagen. In de verte staat het silhouet van de Rotskoepel als symbool van identiteit en geloof.
Verspreid over het werk dragen symbolen het verhaal van een volk: de katapult van het verzet, de sleutel van de terugkeer van wie nooit vergat, en de olijfboom, diep geworteld als het verhaal dat hij vertelt.
Dit is niet zomaar een kunstwerk.
Het is een straat, een herinnering en een erfenis — geborduurd om te blijven.

What touched me most is that ShawQ doesn't seem to treat culture as a fashion trend. It treats it with respect. Every symbol has a story. Every design feels like it is carrying a piece of someone's history. And when clothing can help keep a culture, a memory, or a story alive, it becomes something much more powerful than fashion. I especially appreciate the way ShawQ uses its platform to keep attention on Palestine and to support humanitarian efforts in Gaza. It’s really good but my only issue is that it is a little tight on the neck. But it fits perfectly. Love it
Beautiful story telling in the image, the stitching is detailed and done well. The sweater material is solid, good thickness and doesn’t seem like the fabric will pill over time. Emotionally, feels grounding wearing something that connects you to your roots, struggles and all the love and everything in between.

Beautifully crafted, and the quality genuinely feels premium. My only concern is the sizing—what is labelled as Chinese [2XL] fits noticeably smaller than a standard [2XL]. For a product of this quality, offering larger and more inclusive sizing would make a real difference. I will still wear it proudly out of love and solidarity with Palestinians, and as a Muslim. But I would strongly suggest adding oversized options or using more standard international sizing. It would be more comfortable and user-friendly, and I believe it would be a win-win for both customers and the brand.
I love the quality and material. My only concern is regarding the sleeves. They are a lot longer than expected for this size. I have to roll them up.
